Amanda Steele is back! And this time someone has a penchant for killing young girls. Tenacious and determined, Amanda and her partner Trent leave no stone unturned as they track down a cold-blooded killer. And like the first book in the series, Amanda must overcome some personal and professional obstacles to get the job done. Those of you who read The Little Grave may or may not like the way that Amanda is portrayed in this book since it is quite different from how she was before. She is no longer the cold, aloof, back up off me, grieving widow who is boiling with rage. Instead, she is now quite approachable, and she even laughs and smiles on ocassion which was previously unheard of. In fact, I really missed that old version of her, and I often hoped she would regress. Nonetheless, she is still a great character, and anyone who likes Kim Stone and Lottie Parker will become an instant fan. What an amazing book! The details were spot on and the tenacity of Detectives Steele and Stenson were so awesome. They seemed to work with out sleep and little to eat to get to the criminals. It gets real edgy when she finds a nite at her daughters grave from the killer. He keeps taunting her and the PWCPD. It’s a real page turner! I can’t describe the fear I felt for those girls from the sex trafficking ring that is still running and how they lure these young girls. I applaud the law enforcement department that seek to put an end to such criminal activities.Don’t miss this book!!
